So I just traded myself for Kim as a slave and killed everyone in the part of the tower I was in, but I can't seem to find the chest with my equipment or the secret passage back to the town she came from. Can anyone help me with this? I've searched the whole area.

my guess is that you haven't found the Rafus' Hideout. It is on one of the photos in the slideshow (the link Hawk gave you). There you find a key.
