Use of Oblivion's Disc
Post by Sailboat »
I'm really interested in playing Nehrim but I don't own Oblivion for PC. I can borrow the disc from a friend of mine but I can't keep it forever.

My question is, does the Oblivion disc need to be used to play Nehrim or just to install it? I really want to play this game (it looks spectacular) but I won't be able to keep the disc to Oblivion for a very long time.
By default you need the disc inserted into your drive to start the game. However, if you get a disc image you can mount it with a virtual DVD drive, and start the game this way.
There are also NoCD patches, which I'm fairly certain cause no problems with Nehrim, though possibly OBSE if you ever decide to use it.
Yeah, but they are only legal to use if you own the game. That is not the case here, unless there are different laws in your country.

This should not be discussed here.
