I recently installed Nehrim on my computer and I'm using the steam version of Oblivion. I followed the steam directions exactly and have the latest Oblivion patch installed. When I go to launch Oblivion however, the Nehrim data files do not show up in the data file section on the start menu. Has anyone had this similar problem and know how to fix it? Any help would be greatly appreciated
You did disable the automatic update function of Steam for Oblivion?
Otherwise Steam will "repair" your "defective" Oblivion installation when it checks for updates.
You have copied the Nerim files into the Oblivion directory?
You have installed Oblivion into a directory NOT affected by UAC?

I don't have steam so not sure, but did you say you are launching Oblivion? You should launch Nehrim instead I would think. Nehrimlauncher.exe in ..\SureAI\Nehrim.
I'm not sure exaclty what a directory not affected by UAC would be. And yes, I copied the Nehrim folder into the oblivion folder, turned off automatic updating on Steam, and still when try launching Oblivion, the Nehrim data files don't appear. Starting Nehrim doesn't seem to work either.

Well, really two scenarios occur. (a) I start the Nehrim launcher from inside the folder and active all three nehrim data files and click start. The oblivion start menu appears, but the start game option, among others, is faded out and unable to be clicked. (b) I start the oblivion launcher which takes me to the oblivion start menu where all options are in bold and clickable. However, when I click on data files, the only files available are the oblivion and oblivion expansion data files. No Nehrim files. So I am able to start oblivion from lauching the oblivion launcher but it only takes me to the original oblivion game.
I do not have steam either, but if your running Vista very annoying UAC controlled or win 7 a little better.
Just a shot in the dark but you could try giving the programme elevated control (administrative rights) -
To configure an application to always run elevated
1.
Right-click an application that is not likely to have been assigned an administrative token, such as a word processing application.
2.
Click Properties, and then select the Compatibility tab.
3.
Under Privilege Level, select Run this program as an administrator, and then click OK.
or turn UAC off - not really reccomended but you could google for how to do it.

Unfortunately, that didn't work either. Thanks for the assistance, nonetheless. If anyone may know or figure out how to solve this issue, help would be greatly appreciated.

Mu suggestion would be:
1. Uninstall everything. Ensure all files are gone.
2. Install Oblivion as per normal.
3. Apply latest patch.
4. Install Nehrim outside /Proframfiles(x86) and NOT IN OBLIVION FOLDER.
5. Run Nehrim Launcher (enable 3 ESM's)
6. Run Nehrim.

I'd like to add:
Do not install Oblivion in UAC affected directories like /Proframfiles(x86) either, if you can avoid it at all.
Oblivion in UAC affected directories may mean that the Nehrim installer can not correctly copy files into the Nehrim directory.
