It took me 1 hour to download the total conversion of TES:IV known as Nehrim, and hoping to play it, I go to try to install the installation file, and all I get is the dreaded "Windows cannot open this file: To open this file windows needs to know what program created it." message! Yes I have the 32 bit Windows Vista operation system on my PC! Is there a program out there that can open the file so that I can install Nehrim? I've gotta install it and play it!
The download file is just an EXE, maybe incomplete or corupt download.

Then where can I download the actual full file from? I tried them all and I only get the same exact type of file that windows just refuses to open up! I need the actual uncorrupted file!!! :x
If its doing the same with all the links on the main site, something is up yur end, may not work but you could just try naming the file extention to .exe ( make shure hide extension for known file types) isnt checked in folder options of windows.
What is the name of the file you are downloading (extension included) and what is the reported size in the file properties? Where are you downloading it from?
I downloaded the file from the mirror 4 and mirror 8 links as well as the mirror 1 link! And each file doesn't even have a .exe on it! The one from the mirror 8 link "The one downloaded from file planet" is exactly 1,685,556 kb in size, and the file says "Nehrim_v1.0.7.5_english[1]"!
That seems to be the correct file and size. Extensions may be hidden in your folder options, so you wont see xxxx.exe. Turn it on and make sure its an .exe. Are you sure you downloaded the file completely, it may be corrupted if the download wasn't complete. It will probably still show the file size even though its incomplete. The safest download in my opinion is the torrent (mirror 1). If you know how torrents work give it a try, and if that doesn't work, theres something strange going on.
