I am in ledur. or under it. and I have come to a door that needs a key. do I find the key? or do I need to track back?

uhm... usualy a locked door ether means there is a key hidden somewhere nearby, or that it is quest related (usualy main quest)
i'm not sure if it was ledur but.. i found the key to advance in one ruin.. it was inside a dead end room with a bucket hanging from the ceiling.. just shoot that gad damnnn! bucket with an arrow and it will fall out.
