Every time I load the Enderal Forgotten Stories through the launcher on Steam, it takes me to the vanilla Skyrim screen. It never goes beyond the symbol, fog, and vanilla music once I select 'new game.' I usually wait till after waiting 5 minutes before giving up and alt-tabbing out.

please delete the two *.ini from ...\Documents\My Games\Enderal;
the game will create new ones on launch; that should solve the issue.
if it doesn't, delete them again, look for the EnderalPrefs_default.ini and the Enderal_default.ini in \Steam\steamapps\common\Enderal,
copy those into the mygames directory and delete the _default - part (so they replace the normal ones)
