IM running around a lot in Ark mostly because i don't know which area has what i need in it and the quest leading icon can be unhelpful at times..
My average loading time each time i go through a gate/door is ~45 seconds!
This is very tedious when trying to 'explore' i.e. run gate run gate run door etc.
maybe my pc is the problem.
or a streamlining of moving to different areas maybe from the map view could be helpful?

The loading times are so long because every quarter is an own worldspace with it's own LOD, not an interior cell like dungeons. We couln't do it another way because each quarter needs many ressources.
You can use the sign posts to fast travel between the different quarters immediately. Also there are telport scrolls to the suntemple and the marketplace. Maybe check out the "mark" and "return" spells - some merchants sell it.
Having an SSD helps a lot with the loading times.
