The puzzle seems straightforward to me, but when I activate the books in the order "Pride was my fall" and pull the chain, nothing happens. I have also tried interacting with the clock before touching the books, but it changes nothing. Is this a bug or am I missing something?

did you find all 4 books? and are you sure you got the order right?

Yup. As I said before, I put them in the order of "Pride was my downfall". I believe this to be correct?

when interacting with the books, they make 2 specific sounds. one of the sounds (the clicking) tells you that it was used in the correct order. the other one indicates that you have to start over, from the first book (from the fireplace on the right)
when used all 4 books, pull the chain an it should work.

1. book on the right next to fireplace
2. book on the left side of the door, when facing the exit
3. or 4. the book on the left next to the fireplace or on the desk, i dont recall the exact order
- then pull the chain at the fireplace
