and i just took a pyrean gear to the dude in the foreign quarter. but now the door is locked and i cant get out of the building.
That is a known issue. We do not know by which AI it is caused. Walk to the door. Open the console. Click on the door. Type in:
and press enter. Close the console. You should be able to walk out

unlockI have found that saving the game after walking through the door keeps the door from locking if that helps you troubleshoot the problem at all.
