I don't know if this has been asked before, but it's really grating.

In 1.2.5.0, I installed a fresh version of skyrim and enderal for this update. The sound when you jump in the water, the splashing sound, now plays at random intervals, consistently in my game. It sounds like the sound file is playing 3-4 times in very fast succession, then stops, and this happens anywhere on the map (I think only outside though), and can happen very frequently. Not sure how better to describe this bug.

It may also be the sound it makes when diving underwater, because sometimes when it happens a blue filter splashes over the screen, like when you dive underwater.

(Also, not sure if this should be here or in the bugs section, sorry if it's in the wrong place)
Do you have any mods installed? (If yes, which?)
Can you upload a save? (so we can test it if necessary)
You can find them under ... Documents \ MyGames \ Skyrim \ Saves.
These are always 2 files, a -.ess and a -.skse file.
Put both in an archive (-.zip) and attach them to your post.
As a save please do not Autosave or Quicksave, but a manually saved.

And look here in the forum for Soundloop Bug (search function), maybe you will find there already a solution.
Here's the saves. I'm not using any mods, I'm using a clean install of both Skyrim and Enderal.

I tried your save and played for about twenty minutes;
and the sound seems gone. or at least I didn't hear it.
there's only one when you're underwater, and I think that one supposed to be there.

stupid question, but you tried to save and reload, yes?

since when is this happening?
you seem pretty far ingame, so not from the beginning.
could you load a save from before it started?
Maybe this save is better, it happens any time I run into the water from here. It's happened pretty consistently, since quite early on in the game, I only thought of writing it here recently.

If there is no issue when you try this save then it must be an issue on my end, but I can't imagine what it could be. I could try reinstalling I suppose. I just tried to change some settings in the launcher, but they aren't saving, so maybe there are issues with my install.

the save seems fine :?:
neither splashing to hear, nor flickering to see.

only thing I hear is the usual underwater sound (and that's only when you're actually under water) :/

could you try to load the attached save? would be funny if that worked for you.
(I loaded yours, ran around a bit, and saved)

hmm, there's a thread about fps > 60 causing that,
could that be the reason?
(higher fps would cause some other issues as well, falling through floors for example)

Omg, you fixed it :D . I switched down to 60fps and the problem's totally gone. I would not have thought of that, thank you so much.
my settings still aren't saving in the launcher though, don't know what could be causing that
nice

as for the settings not saving..
I totally overlooked that sentence
sorry

hm.
could you check if there's a protection on the two ini files in C:\Users\*yourname*\Documents\My Games?
disable that.
if there isn't one, maybe delete these two files?
(they should be recreated on launch, but in this case, back them up to be sure)
maybe that helps.
Huh, deleting them did the trick. Once again, thanks for your help. It works like a charm now.
