Hello, I'm afraid I am having some difficulty launching Enderal. I followed the YouTuber Gopher's installation instructions, mostly. The one difference is that I installed the newest version of the Microsoft .NET Framework 4.7, although the page states compatibility with 4.5. When I click on the "Launch Enderal," button, a black window briefly appears and I can hear music. However, this only lasts for a moment and then stops. The launcher remains, but the game itself does not start. I have looked online for a solution, and have tried many of the different ones, such as launching it through Steam, moving the original Skyrim folders from the "my games," folder in Documents, checking that my Firewall is not blocking it, and launching it through NMM's SKSE option. None have worked. Could someone please help me? I would really like to play this game. Thank you in advance.

welcome to the Forum

with "black window" do you mean full screen black?
that sounds like that thing that happens in Skyrim with missing masters.
there shouldn't be any mods active, or even available in the launcher.
(besides maybe actual Enderal-specific ones)

or a small one (which comes from from skse)?
have you tried starting the game as admin?
also, (unlikely but) maybe for some reason Skyrim is running in the background?
it would appear in the detalled view of the taskmanager (but, as said, unlikely :/ )

It is a small black window from SKSE.
When you write "starting the game from admin," do you mean launching the Enderal Launcher under "run as administrator?" If so, yes, I have tried that.
I just checked, and Skyrim does not seem to be running in the background, according to the task--manager.

hrm.
you said you tried launching it via NMM - do you have any mods installed?
you could also try starting skse_loader.exe in Steam\SteamApps\common\Skyrim directly (with, yeah, "run as administrator")

other thing -
please attach the skyrim.ini found in Documents\My Games\Skyrim. maybe something went wrong with that

to make sure, you did not install skse seperately, right?
it's included in Enderal

Oh...that might be it then. I had several mods installed on Skyrim that required SKSE, so I had it installed long before Enderal. Uninstalling it could fix the issue, then?
I would check right now, but Enderal uninstalled itself overnight, so it's reinstalling now.

I created a clean profile on the Nexus Mod Manager with no mods installed, and have tried loading it through SKSE, but the duplicate could be the source of the problem.

EDIT: The SKSE duplicate seemed to be what was causing the issue. Enderal still does not launch through its designated launcher, but running it through the SKSE loader makes it boot up just fine! Thank you so much for all of your help!

Enderal Launcher does not detect the game files anymore
In rare cases it can happen that the launcher does not detect the game files anymore.
Theoretically you would need to reinstall Enderal and download the patches again. Before you do that, try out these tipps:

• Close the Enderal launcher.

• Run a text editor like Notepad++.

• If everything was installed properly before the game files are not recognized anymore, open up your conf.sur with the text editor.

• The file is located in your game directory ...\Skyrim\EnderalLauncher\system\config\conf.sur.

• C:\program files(x86)\Steam\Steamapps\common\Skyrim\EnderalLauncher\system\config\conf.sur being the default path of your installation if Skyrim was installed via Steam.

• Edit this line bInstallStat=0 to bInstallStat=1. Save the file.

• Run the Enderal launcher as admin and start playing Enderal.
