Why does this ore needs some special pickaxe or tool ? If i press E on the ore it just does nothing. every thorium deposit i found out i cant mine.

You should be able to mine it.
Can you mine if you equip the pickaxe as weapon and hit the thorium?

Thanks for the help indeed i can mine if i hit it with the pickaxe(never in any Elder of scrolls i imagined that you can mine by hitting it )
The very first Thorium that i found i used the E key to mine it started the animation but aborted the in the middle without any ore collected. I tried 3 or 4 times again on the same spot and nothing new happened same problem. Now every Thorium that i found the E button doesnt do anything anymore im glad i can mine by hitting it at least

That's curious. I didn't know you could mine anything without using the pickaxe. Have to give that a try.
But now that you have learned how to mine it, the problem will be finding it. It's pretty rare. But when you get to higher levels, the merchants will sell it. I think over level 40 is when they start, but not sure.

Sorry if i didn't make it clear, i was with a normal pickaxe and was allowed to mine everything but thorium but now i can "manually" mine thorium since its automatic move is bugged(the animation when you press E)
