Hello!
I recently download Enderal and wanted to try it out. After several problems with game starting (which was caused by steam) game started up. every button had $ at the beginning of them. I pressed "New Game". Game freezes like 1-2 seconds and all i see is the skyrim logo (with background smoke) and i hear the Skyrim theme song. I have tried reinstalling the game twice now but it isn't helped.

OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit SP1
CPU: AMD Phenom II X6 1070T
RAM: 8,00GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 669MHz
GPU: 1024MB ATI AMD Radeon HD 6700 Series

Game settings is set to high and RAM is set to 8 and CPU usage is set to 4

There is something wrong with your Enderal installation, as usually the $ signs are not there. These mean that at least your translate_English.txt is either not there or the wrong one.

And if your game crashes upon starting a new game there is not much else that could be responsible for your issues but a corrupt installation - if you uninstall Enderal, can you start Skyrim properly? Start a new game/load a savegame?

If you say that you had issues with the installation because of Steam this could have also corrupted the Skyrim files which Enderal needs to work.

In any case you should deinstall Enderal, then do a integrety check of your Skyrim files, then reinstall Enderal and retry to start a new game.

I reinstalled the skyrim, did the verify game thing. I tested without the Enderal, game starts up fine but the background is blue now and font doesnt seems that skyrim uses and i can start new game fine. Loading screen also looks different...

I had the same problem.

Uninstall Skyrim + Enderal and delete all files in the folder.

Then install Skyrim and start the game to make sure it works normally.

Next, install Enderal and update it.

Then start it from skse_loader.exe

Enderal should now work properly.


I dont know why that is needed, but it seems that Enderal and Skyrim dont always play nice. Mostly the backup folder process, but fixing it manually didnt work (dont ask me why).

Hello,
I encountered the same bug that the author described. I tried all the things that were mentioned in this post (reinstalling both enderal and skyrim, launching through the different launcher). Enderal still won't launch after pressing the NEW button and the $ symbols still appear. Are there any other options? Or do i just need to wait for the next patch?

I dont have that in the folder, i have dowloaded Skse from steam.
EDIT: I deleted it from steam and downloaded for desktop

Its not your file which is the problem. Nor is it a RAR file. The picture link uses the extension.gz. And thats Gzip.
Did you try to extract it with Winrar, or did you use a tool with winrar support?

I used first DirectoryOpus with Rar support. And that went just like yours.. using Winrar 5.31/5.40 it opened nicely.

You are not suppose to open the file. Just use the Enderal Launcher.exe and it will install it for you.
