Yes, I solved this before even posting the question, but thought I would relay the experience for others who might encounter it:
Have been enjoying Enderal immensely since it was released. (English language version). This morning I decided to check something in Skyrim. The loader rechecked my video card, which I found odd, set the graphics levels, then started the game.
After seeing what I needed, I closed Skyrim, started the Enderal launcher and launched the game. It got to the first screen where the Continue, New, Load, etc. menu is, but before those choices appeared, it crashed back to desktop. Tried 3 more times, same result, closed and reopened the launcher, same result. Closed Steam, restarted Steam, same result. Checked for an Enderal update, downloaded one, tried again, same result. Rebooted computer, same result.
Just before posting this, I decided to try one more thing, I checked the Data Files by clicking that button in the Enderal launcher. The three mod files I had used with Skyrim were listed there, and all three were checked. I unchecked them, launched Enderal again and this time it loaded successfully.
I don't know if those .esp files were always there and only got checked because I played Skyrim, or if playing Skyrim added them there and checked them off at the same time. I'll leave that for the folks at Sure AI to ponder.
EDIT August 23, 2016: A related problem. Every time I call up the launcher and start the game now, the Skyrim launch screen appears. I click Data Files to look, and the 3 Skyrim mods are still unchecked. but unless I hit Save Changes (even though there have been none), I can't start Enderal. A minor annoyance, to be sure, but an annoyance none the less.
