So, how do I install the game?

I unzipped everything into the Skyrim folder in Steam. I am able to start the launcher, but then when I click on "New Game" or "Continue", the game simply exits. I searched but I have not been able to find instructions so far how to install it.

Sorry, but you messed it up.
After downloading the zip, you're supposed to run the launcher. The launcher will identify the right folders, make backups and unzipping everything.
I'd suggest to do it the way you were supposed to do it. However, this means reinstalling or restoring Skyrim.

After downloading the zip, you're supposed to run the launcher. The launcher will identify the right folders, make backups and unzipping everything.

Before putting everything into the Skyrim folder, I did run the launcher and it told me it was unable to find TESV.exe (or something similar). I will give it another try though, and uninstall Skyrim before trying again.

Update: I did as you suggested, however I keep getting the error message "TESV.exe not found" each time I run skse_loader.exe .

Start Enderal through the Launcherbutton. You do not have to start Enderal with SKSE (it's already implemented and works in the background while you are starting with the launcher).
