Starting a new game in the options menu and first setting up I do have sound, but when the game starts no sound at all not sure what else it can be? audio sliders are set correctly any suggestions?

A few days late but... Here are some things you can try;

- Run the game without any mods or OBSE etc.
- Delete/rename Oblivion.ini (the one in Documents\Games\Oblivion. NOT oblivion_default.ini)
- Ensure that you have the right version of Direct X 9.0c

Got the same problem. Tried all this, but nothing helped...
Any other ideas? Unfortunately Google says nothing about this...
