I recently installed the game and was excited to finally play it when it finally started running.
I had a hell of a time installing it, with the installer taking forever to start up and the game simply not working when I first tried, but I finally got past all of that.
However, when I finally got to play, I found that one of the races was bugged and I am unsure as to why.
Half Aeterna have a giant square prism with an exclamation point on/in it obscuring them. This entirely baffled me.
Anyone have any idea why this is happening/how I can fix it? I'd really like to try this game out, and while it doesn't make the game playable, it massively takes away from teh game experience.

Probably your Oblivion mods (or their leftovers) are messing this up for you. Start with a clean installation of Oblivion. So uninstall Nehrim and Oblivion. Then install Oblivion again, patch it to 1.2.0416, then install Nehrim.
