I posted this cry for help in another part of the forum--sorry to repeat myself.

I'm in the tavern area of the first mine and no way out. Did I miss something? (obviously)

Is there a walkthrough for this?

Hi, as far as I can remember search for a passage NOT inside the tavern, but outside. Hope this helps you (taken from Wiki)
'You pass through an area with an abandoned inn and some more Trolls. Go down a hole by a corpse this takes you to an area which contains a burning man (and the first of 100 Magic Symbols), then an area with some young Trolls which leads to a bridge. '

Weird, mine hung up as well, tried three times, that's weird. Try right click the link to the pdf, pick the option "save as" and just name it Nehrim walkthrough or something and you'll have the file, without having to open it in firefox - making it not hang up.

Thanks for the help--I got through and out going down the hole by the corpse--there was no icon indication to go there.
And I got the walkthrough--not very detailed--took 1 1/2 hours to download.

But now I'm stuck trying to close up the rats--I can't see where the holes are or
what shape they are, and pushing blocks makes them go at random. Very hard.
And this quest can't be avoided or cheated?

You should use the "grab" key for the stones, not push them around with your feet. That shouldn't be too random.
The holes have some hay in them and they are usually the places where the rats come out.

It's the best walkthrough I managed to find so far on the interwebs, it helped me a little, but yeah. I had no idea it would take 1½h to dl, mine took some minutes tops I hope you managed that rat mission now atleast, it's easy when you do like arvisrend said. Think about the shapes of the holes and stones btw, all stones don't fit in all holes.

I would much appreciate a mini-map showing where the holes are and what shape.
How many are there? I have found only two blocks so far--would be good if I could pick them up and place them as needed. And I get killed by the rats before I can explore very far.
Is there a god mode on the oblivion cheats?

Use the "grab" key. Note also that you have a healing spell, and you can also retreat if things are dire.
