I noticed that lighting settings are different from Oblivion, always get a cell with a greypink tone, regardless which settings used.
Also noticed that many interiors haven't North markers. Is this "essential"?

Northmarkers aren't essential, all they do is tell the game where north is in a particular interior. Without them, the compass doesn't always match when you enter the interior with when you leave it. I never noticed, because I'm using a HUD without a compass.
