Hi guys!
I need some help, but first I wanna say that Nehrim is really envolving. Congratulation to the creator.
So, that's my problem.
I'm stuck at level 2 and I cannot reach level 3. I've already completed more than 15 quests, I gained a lot of ExP, but I'm not able to understand how to do it.
When I reached level 2, the game told me to have a rest to meditate on what I'd learned. So I slept and when I woke up I gained level 2 and I chose what skills increase.
But after that has passed a long time.
I've tryed to click on my diary I have in the inventory, but it tells me that I can't equip that item.
I know that probably I'm just a bit dumb, but please someone helps me explaining exactly the procedure to level up (what I have to push and where).

Sounds like it's still using the oblivion leveling system for some reason. In nehrim skill increases and resting shouldn't raise your level, it's all done via experiance points and through the diary. Not sure what would cause that though. Except Oblivion esm still been active. Check yer data files and make sure the three nerhim files are the only ones loaded.

Experiance points. You'll earn them from killing creatures or completing quests. You also get small amounts from various other actions, finding magic runes, discovering a new location or crafting something awards a few. When you reach a certain amount you should get a message telling you to use the diary ( the diary icon should have a red triangle over it in the inventory to mark it too). Clicking the diary you should see the option to level up, that works the normal way, spend your attribute points then close it again. You'll get a bunch of learning points each level up too that you can spend on skill increases, you'll need to find a trainer in the skills ye want to spend them at though.

make sure you don't have any of the olbivion.esm files still loading that will mess things up, use the nehrim launcher and make sure you only have the 3 nehrim files loaded under data files

I know how to get EP.
My problem is that after the first level up I didn't get any message to level up again and I have more than 17000 points. The problem is that if I try to select from the inventory my diary, it doesn't make me open it.
Tonight I'll try to install again everything. However, I selected the right three files before launching the game. Once re-installed, do you think I can use my saved game again? It would be a pity to lose all my progress.
If anybody has any piece of advice...

No, your savegames will NOT be lost when you deinstall Nehrim (or Oblivion).

Even though I re-installed oblivion (flat), I put on the patch 1.20416, then I installed nehrim, checked the data files, the problem with the level up still exists.
I post my saved game, so someone can give me a hint.
Please, is there antbody that can explain me what are the steps to level up in the game? I mean, what I have to push in the inventory, when, ecc..., because I have the feeling that maybe I'm just doing something wrong.
I remember to everybody that when I try to select the diary in my inventory, it says to me "I cannot equip this item" and soon after "I cannot use this yet".
Please, I really need help. I can't play all the game at level 2.

Anothe additional info, what is the amount of EP needed to pass from lv2 to lv3, lv4, ecc...?

When you click on diary,it does not open, you will get a message that says you cannot equip this item. But you should get another pop up window with "craft status" ,"Hunting Skills" etc. At the top of the pop up it says "Level up", that is the button to level up with.

did you try my saved game, because i've never seen that pop-up window. please, have a try with my saved game and tell me if it works or not.

I just tried your save. most likely you have killed the dark troll in the start dungeon the wrong way.
however, just type "set startglobal to 1" (without "") in the console and you should be able to level up.
When I tried it with your save you got instantly up to level 9.

To open or close the console press '~' key (the one above Tab)
then type "set startglobal to 1"
then press enter

I can only confirm what Roland Deschain said. This will be fixed in 1.0.8 (no more way to kill the black troll "the wrong way") but you still have to write "set startglobal to 1" into your console in order to make the diary usable.

If that is solved, then I have another question. I am completely unable to level up - the game allows me to open the diary, I press "Level Up", select attributes... and when I press OK, the game flat out freezes. I've tried it several times, no luck. What could be wrong? Save game attached. It's a pity if I can't keep playing because I was really intrigued by the introduction and would like to get out of the mine and explore! Thanks for any help

Apparently I just needed to wait a bit longer and not be so impatient once I get into it
