Nehrims HDR
Post by misinformed »
Ive been having a go at trying to get nehrim looking its best for a few days now. And it is head and shoulders with what youd expect.

But hdr is giving me a headache and probably a fair bit of eyestrain. Ive been trying to play around with oblivion.ini in my documents folderby going by some of the descriptions of what the commands do however theres not much info around on the [BlurShaderHDR] section. Im also assuming is the only section in there to influence hdr outdoors. What i really want to have is less blurring its impossible to focus on anything, id like some cleaner lines. Its like wearing someone elses perscription glasses at the moment, awful.

Heres what ive got at the moment:

[BlurShaderHDR]
fTargetLUM=1.2000
fUpperLUMClamp=1.0000
fGrassDimmer=1.3000
fTreeDimmer=1.2000
fEmissiveHDRMult=1.0000
fEyeAdaptSpeed=0.7000
fSunlightDimmer=1.3000
fSIEmmisiveMult=1.0000
fSISpecularMult=1.0000
fSkyBrightness=0.5000
fSunBrightness=0.0000
fBrightScale=0.5000
fBrightClamp=0.350
fBlurRadius=4.0000
iNumBlurpasses=2
iBlendType=2
bDoHighDynamicRange=1

Most of these settings ive tried tinkering about with dont seem to do anything at all. (or im editing the wrong ini file) Documents\My games\Oblivion\Oblivion.ini

This is what my game looks like at the moment: http://i54.tinypic.com/1zmmahl.jpg

Hdr on
Ive got Bloom off
Depth of field in the diary off (that doesnt seem to want to work with AA enabled strangely enough but thats another problem)
Everything else high or on.
ATI 5850 (10.5)
Windows 7 64bit

Ive also tried copying over oblivions shaderpack017 into nehrims shader folder (which my nehrim is currently using stated in renderinfo.txt in) to try to tone down the hdr but that doesnt solve it.

Any help would be appreciated.

You can turn off the distant blur in the Diary (in your inventory, under the Misc Items tab).

OK, I missed that line. Replacing the shaders in the folder won't work, but you can delete them from the BSA file by using a BSA extractor (there are various ones on the net, such as the BSA Commander). But I don't think this would help more than disabling the blur in the diary.

HDR and Antialiasing don't work together. Don't know if that matters for your issue.
