Is there door at the end of the "secret vault" after you get the cool looking helmet and finish that part of the quest supposed to have the key? I'd just run back to the start but I don't want to miss anything if I'm supposed to be able to open that door, and I don't see any key anywhere.

It's the fortress of the village ( same name ) on the corpse of that traiterous bandit prince, avenge your family and kill him. The passage is also in the same castle.
