Hi guys,

finally got mod working, everything looks great.

However while playable for about 30 seconds or so, the input just dies. I can't move mouse, can't press buttons, can't access menu, nothing.

I can alt tab though.

Any ideas?

Maybe you forgot to patch Oblivion to the latest version (1.2.0416) before installing Nehrim

Am patched up - both Vanilla and Nehrim menus confirm this

Does this freeze happen for you every 30 seconds? I know that I have gotten the same type of freeze after an hour or more of play and sometimes never. But I know when loading from the last save everything is ok. I just call it a hiccup. There are also times it appears to freeze for about 5 to 10 seconds then everthing is ok. Sometimes I think it is my virus checker updating that causes it because when it updates when I'm doing other things my other programs appear to do the same (freeze then start).

It's not in intervals - just 30 seconds or so after pressing New Game, setting up my character, talking to the guy - any time from then and about 30-60 seconds after all input will freeze permanately, yet the game continues to run.

Do you have some stuff like gamepads, joysticks etc. plugged in? In this case, unplug them. That's another old Oblivion bug.

No, nothing like that.

I have uninstalled Oblivion and the mod and reinstalled completely fresh. The exact same thing happens - play for a short while, all input locks up.

Nasty stuff (viruses, antiviruses etc.) running in background?

Nope - and I've tried with with firewalls/AV completely disabled and completely enabled.

I'm on XP btw.

Fixed my problem - is related to Music and sound card drivers; two solutions,

1) remove music folder

or

2) install the k-lite music pack and uninstall any and all other codecs in the process

Got it working, now time to enjoy!
