Soul Bed
Post by lawrenceraj »
I am literally stuck in the Soul Bed cave, and due to a magical barrier now present at the entrance I came in from -I cannot find any other way out...

hi, welcome to the forum :)

could you please attach a savegame (no auto- or quicksave)?
they're found in (...\Documents\My Games\Enderal); we'll need the *.ess and the *.skse file.
pack both to a zip/rar/whatever archive, the forum doesn't accept *.skse.
thank you :)

I've never done that before, but I'll give it a try. Thanks...

those are just the *.ess files :)

you should have two identically named files for every save in your save folder,
a [savename].ess and a [savename].skse.
(you may not see the file endings, I think windows doesn't show them by default)

we'll need both of them.

but I could take a look at your save; did you do something out of the ordinary to kill this non reacting boss creature?
the quest should have advanced but didn't, that's why you can't leave.
do you have an earlier save to enter the cave again?

... That is the biggest problem of all. When I could not move forward, I thought the game was simply slowing down because I had too many Saved games backlogged. So, I then proceeded to delete every saved game up to that moment. Only later did I realize what a 'grave' mistake I made... I will see if I can retrieve those files... Thanks for your patience...

If this doesn't help, I guess I'm just going to have to say Thanks -and goodbye...

ok, we need the console with that:
[+] +
enter each line after the other, confirming after every break.
setstage FS_NQ07 310
setstage FS_NQ07 320
setstage FS_NQ07 330
setstage FS_NQ07 340
you should get questlog updates at stage 330 and 340.
at this point you can leave the cave.
Maxxus won't talk with you yet though.

you still need the following codes.
I went to Duneville to check that before, but it shouldn't make a difference where you are.
setstage FS_NQ07 350
setstage FS_NQ07 360
after that the quest should proceed as planned.
good luck :)

Are you asking what kind of console I was using? Keyboard and mouse, if that's what you're asking...

ah, no.

press ~ or one of the keys listed here, that opens the "console".
you can now type the commands I listed in the previous post (setstage FS_NQ07 310 and so on) :)

nice, good to know it worked :D
you can (an probably should) remove saves from time to time to reduce loading times,
but maybe not alle of them ;)
