This is my first time playing this game, i was just about to leave Riverville with Jespar and when he started following me it says in the middle of the screen: "Jespar now follows you". Then it disappears and flashes back again. in a constant loop disappearing and coming back, stays for about 3 seconds disappears for about 0.1 seconds.
No mods, fresh install. Played 3 hours yesterday then today there was an update and this happened. I loaded an earlier save and the message was just stuck on the screen, while the quest objective is to go talk to Jespar. I then loaded a brand new game and the message was STILL on the screen.
I hope I don't have to re-install the game but am afraid if I do it'll happen again. I just don't want to see Ark for the first time with this message flashing in the center of my screen.

Fortunately rare but very annoying engine bug,
the fastest, close the game and after restart load a savegame before the problem.
Then you can see if newer saves still have the problem.
