Alrighty. From the beginning.

I've played Nehrim, so far, with only the occasional random crash that's normal to the Oblivion engine and two BSOD's, which I do believe have to do with the engine itself as well. All in all, it runs better than my default Oblivion does.

Mostly.

I have a handful of mods in it. All of which have either been designed for Nehrim or I have converted or made myself.

The latest problem, however, won't allow me to proceed with the Main Quest. This is my first time through the game. This is directly after the 'Into the Sky' quest, and I am currently up on Inodan. I have lit all four torches and taken the light ramp up to speak to Tyr, when he gives me the 'moral dilemma' to either kill him or allow him to live.

No matter which choice I make, stepping forward or backward, a scripted event starts. I can hear it, but it will not complete. A little less than two seconds after the noise starts, I crash immediately to desktop with the standard 'Oblivion has encountered an error and needs to close'.

I am using the English version, with the newest EN Patch, 1.0.9.1. I updated, incrementally, from version 1.0.8.2, which is the only previous patch I had applied.

I have tried:

A default race. [Half-Aeterna, specifically]
Going through it with AND without godmode via the console. [I was tgm'ing the first time, because I had too much crap in my inventory and no time to duck home to dump it]
Removing all my mods as well as using a default race.
Running through it, complete, with no breaks, twice, starting from the 'Hall of Tyrat', and at least half a dozen times from the foot of Inodan, where Arkt and the Player are dropped off.

The crash happens at the same exact moment every single time.

I am rather at a loss at how to get around it or fix it.

I would rather play through it properly, but in the case that anyone cannot give me a lead on repair, could one of the team give me the quest ID and the next quest stage number, so I can use the 'setstage' console command to jump past it?

Thanks for your time.
I remember this being reported - I think by a user called Growlf(?).
And if I remember correctly, he had OBSE. You seem too, with your enhanced hotkeys. Have you tried playing that scene without OBSE?
I must have missed that report. I tried to find a similar issue first, before posting.

But anyway, yes, I have. Though, I only played non-OBSE from the bottom of the light-ramp. I tried removing everything except what Nehrim itself puts in during installation, with no go.

Is it a scripted in-game event that happens, or does a movie play? If so, perhaps I have a corrupted vid file. I just don't know. Without any leads on where to go, I can't track down the issue.

I'll have to see if I can track Growlf down and give him a poke as well, to see if/how he fixed it.

For now, I'll replay from the Halls of Tyrat again without OBSE, perhaps I trigger'd something previous.

Edit: Still no go without OBSE. I still crash at precisely the same moment.

Irrelevant things I noticed while running through this time:
[+]
I do not get a notice pop-up for killing the Light-Born god Saldrin. [I thought that before, but wasn't positive until now] It doesn't seem to affect the rest of the scripts or quests though. It's just... absent.
And there is no female counterpart to the Tel'maltath robe that you pick up from Narathzul Arantheal. I get invisi-body.
Care to upload your savegame here?

What is supposed to happen is a scripted dialogue with Arkt. No movies.

As for Saldrin and Tel'Imaltath, the issues are known. We've got our modeller working again, but I don't know whether he is fixing the robe now.
Which savegame do you want?

I have about a half-a-dozen now, starting from the Hall of Tyrat, onward.

Also, would you like me to switch the character to a default race? My races are custom-built, for the most part, so you might have an issue loading the save to see if the crash repeats itself in the game.
The last one before the crash.

And I don't think it's a race problem.
I rather doubt it's a race as well, but, I've had more innocuous things cause problems. Sometimes, it's the strangest things that give an issue.

Awwrighty. Anyway. I'll send both, custom and default.

The one for 'Agaile' is a heavily customized race that I converted back to the default half-aeterna race, using 'showracemenu'. Ni'tashi is using Korana's Hidden Elves, that I converted over with TES4Gecko [if you use that one, you'll be missing the hair, but it shouldn't affect anything].

Agaile's save is directly after Tyr asks the question, and he's waiting for the answer. Agaile is also overloaded with junk, you'll have to tgm to move.

Ni'tashi is standing at the base of the light ramp, all four torches have already been lit. I stuffed all of her inventory in a barrel nearby.

You haven't uploaded Agaile's ESS, only the OBSE.
I'll check Nitashi now.

EDIT: Crash confirmed with Nitashi. I have no idea what causes it, but it is probably something in this script:

End
I will come back to this later. At the moment, it seems to be the "SayTo Player" that crashes - can *this* be due to a race?
Woops. Sorry.

ESS and OBSE re-uploaded for both characters.

If it helps, I used 'showracemenu' several times throughout the game for new characters, so I didn't have to restart from the beginning. Each gets newly saved in it's own slot, so none of my skills or abilities are lost.

I always do this with Oblivion too, until I accumulate several hundred hours between them all, since obviously, they diverge when I split into a new character. The only time I start completely from the beginning is after completing the MQ at least once, and I want to play a totally different style.

Agaile is the fifth direct incarnation since the beginning of the game.

Ni'tashi is the sixth, I believe. XD

The two prior characters are Neru and Morvena. Both custom-built races as well. As well as the nameless and overwritten half-aeterna I started the game with and wandered around the earliest game section. I switched to Morvena before running into the Black Troll, if I correctly recall.

I have their saves archived also [I don't ever delete saves], but they're a fair ways back in the game.

I fired up Nitashi and had no problems. It's a bit crude, but try clicking through Tyr's dialogue as quickly as possible.

I had a similar problem with the final boss that was also fixed by console-killing so the script would progress quickly.
