Do you get companions in Enderal like Skyrim?
I gather you get one but only on the main quest?

From what I can tell, there are none of the traditional Skyrim type companions you can hire. And it's too bad, because the game can be quite difficult with arcane fever following you around even when using the high quality health potions.
There are two companions that appear in the main quest, one male and one female. You will get to know both of them as you progress. But they only are with you if you remain on the path to each objective. If you stray off and explore during the main quest, they will not follow, but will meet up later when you get back on track. They will not be with you at all on side quests. You also have the option of romancing either of these companions, and can decide that with your dialog choices. It also appears that you can choose either one to romance regardless of the sex of your character. Although I can't say that for sure, as I did not pursue a same sex relationship. But it certainly seemed like I had that choice.

Thanks for clearing that up it was bugging me, I sort of hoped they were there but I was just missing it.
Yes companions were great but I have enough NPC distractors (Staffs & Summon) to be able to do the same thing and easier too, as they don't stand in my fucking way!!!
You can get Quest Companions to follow you off mission, if you get an NCP to follow you back to them, they will chase them and if you stay ahead of them they will wait there until you do it again. I did this at the heartlands and managed to clear a wide area to go back to. It all started when a spider chased me....
The NPCs runaway when wounded and this really worked in my favour, there were mages that hammered me but I left them alone F5.

I have had a summoned sand elemental in Enderal get in my way a couple of times, but it was usually not in battle. Companions have their uses, and in Enderal, umm.. a few more uses than in Skyrim. Now if only Lishari.........
