I have tried several times to instal Enderal, and every time it has worked a little, but upon launching the game it would be a mixture of Skyrim and Enderal, some menus and features from one, some from another. This last time i spent extra care to watch what goes wrong, and i noticed that the Enderal installer copies out the meshes and texture .bsa files just fine, but jumps from 5% installed to 100% the second it hits an interface file.
Which brings me to an issue i noticed much sooner on, after running the Enderal installer and updating, some of the files in my skyrim (Now enderal) folder would be inaccessible. Giving me the error message "Location is not available, C:\Games\steam\steamapps\common\skryimg\data\interface , access is denied" This occurs with the interface, strings, and video folders (Possibly more, I only know of the three). And the only way I've found to be able to touch those folders again is to 100% uninstall skryim, enderal, and steam, then restart a bunch of times and defrag, eventually gaining access to what are now empty folders.
I have found no mention of this issue elsewhere, and after several days of tinkering I am at a loss. My account is an admin, i have set the permissions, I have added exceptions to my antivirus, I have tried it from the windows admin account, I have even factory reset my computer. Every time i get the same issue. Send help.

welcome to the forum
with your last sentences you pretty much checked every box I thought of during reading that post :/
hm.
is the Launcher giving any errors?
it might be a corrupted installation file
reload the mainfile, preferably the torrent version, and try that.

I was afraid of that. I've required that several times, as well as the launcher. I did just have a thought though, the launcher is 32-bit and my system is naturally 64. Seems fringe but I'll give it one more fresh go. Thanks for the quick reply
just to make sure -
you are working with the Classic Skyrim version, right?
not SE?

The launcher is 32bit in order to work on 32bit and 64bit systems and also with Mod Organizer (which is a 32bit application).
Yes I am using classic skyrim, without dlcs. Like I said, it's fringe, at this point I've tried all the normal things I can think of. I was wondering if perhaps installing it on another computer then transferring the files would work.
at least it woldn't hurt to try, if you have the opportunity
Alright. So if you can manage to install enderal into skyrim on another computer, it is possible to then copy the entire skyrim folder onto a portable drive, then delete the skyrim folder on your destination computer and replace it with the enderal installed one. Using the 'play enderal' button in the enderal launcher opens up the skyrim launcher, and clicking 'play' on that launches enderal. It's a little patchwork, but as it stands it seems to be working okay. I will update on the performance/integrity of the data files after playing for a bit to see if they work. Wish I'd thought of this sooner!
good to hear you found a way, but that's really odd
well, let's hope it works
