I have 3 auto saves and one actual save in the castle past the part where you and Calia are (spoilers) reunited. I can't load any of them I go straight to desktop after partial loading. I applied the fix in the other CTD thread and changed the value in the ini file and put the dll file in. Is there anything else I can do? or am I boned...
Edit: So I can back and reloaded a few saves, other than the ones in the Castle I don't CTD. So is there something that changed in the most recent patch? Or is there something in the castle that's not rendering correctly?

We know abut the CTD in Castle Dal'Galar. It's caused by the spell "Magelight".
Sorry for bringing this up again, but I am having the same issue and cannot continue the game.
Is there a way to fix it or is a fix incoming? I couldn't find the issue in the bug tracker.
I can attach the affected savegames if it helps.
All Dal'Galar savegames are affected for me... which is strange since I saved and loaded a lot in there. They all became corrupt after the sequence with Calia.

It's already reported i.e. here. No there is no fix.
I can't say exactly when it will be fixed (takes some times probably).
There will probably be only a fix to prevent the crash.
Best way is to load an older save and not use magelight. Sorry.

That is sad news, since all autosaves are corrupted by this and the last savegame is probably some time before even setting out on this quest. But thank you very much for your reply.
I don't know if I am such a rare case though. Magelight is the spell I use most in this game. The world is so dark and frightening that I absolutely need the light on all the time when I'm not outside in sunny weather. Oh, and also for not missing any baubles and loot on the way.

At least it is only the castel DalGalar which corrupts savegames.
Regarding the Brightness:
You can disable OneTweak in the launcher settings and you should be able to change the brightness.

I tried around for a while now since I would have lost one month of progress and found a possible way to rescue a working recent autosave:
I looked for the oldest autosave in Dal'Galar, which was an autosave*.ess.bak file, not the *.ess file. So what I did was to delete the corresponding autosave*.ess file and rename the autosave*.ess.back to autosave*.ess to force the game to use it instead and it worked, the savegame was uncorrupted.
Will complete it now without magelight
