Hi,
we only take native speakers of German as translators and afterwards have the texts proofread by native English speakers. The reason for it is that we have mostly used very tough German in our texts, which is nothing that anyone can translate properly after having learned the language for one or two years (I guess this period in your case). This is no doubt in your abilities, but simply necessity.
