Okay I downloaded this game because I heard great things about it including it being mostly bug free. What a lie! Mother of god its the buggiest game I ever played in my life. No trolling here me out. Fresh install of oblivion with patch 1.2.0.416 and Nehrim English version 1.5.0.8. I was really enjoying the game until all the bugs smacked me in the face. I reinstalled both games multiple times to the point where I've memorized the intro level and refuse to go through it again. Here's a short list I what I've encountered thus far:
(Note I am not using ANY mods)
No ore to collect after mining lore, had to reload to fix.
Black troll already on fire and running after me when you have to lit the four torches.
Merchant's don't always react to stealing.
Merchants having infinity of one item after I buy some instead of it running out of stock (happened with coal)
NPCs not reacting to murder.
NPCs/Creatures not noticing me.
NPCs/Creatures running at me but not attacking.
Gaurds not enforcing attack law.
Gaurds not enforcing anti-magic law.
Glitchy animations.
Horrible pathfinding, people and merchants on donkeys running at walls.
Merchants not having barter option.
Merchants stuck in animation loop (hand gesture) they let you rob them blind.
NPCs and creatures frozen still like manikins.
Erothin gates are always open.
Music is erratic and the wrong track/SFX are always playing (combat noise even when I am no longer in danger, death sound even after reloading save game etc)
When I got to Tirin Abbey this happened:
First the boat we came on dissapeared unti I got off then it came back.
Then the guy you come with whose suppose to get off the ramp fell off into the water on the opposite side and got stuck in a permanent swimming animation.
The gaurd who is suppose to be on the bench is not there (even after reinstall!)
I've put so much time into playing this game (20+ hours and beat chapter 1) and it makes me really sad to have to quit. What could I have possibly gone wrong??

Hey RPGFanatic, it’s sad to hear about your frustration with Nehrim. I guess you’ve browsed the SureAI Forum and have come across the posts of many people who have spent hundreds of hours playing Nehrim, including myself. Also, I assume you know about Nehrim Wiki, where a dedicated community has created a vast encyclopedia of all the details of the game and the world it takes place in – including help for players who are stuck or need hints. Sure, Nerhim still contains bugs like the ones you have listed, but all these people have enjoyed the game and played it through – several times – notwithstanding the bugs.
But let’s talk about your own perception of Nehrim and your own experience with the game. Reading the end of your post, I see that you’re not just here to complain, but to ask if anything is wrong. If it really saddens you to have to quit the game and if you are an “RPGFanatic”, I can sincerely advise you to continue playing. The benefits of the game and the scope of its main storyline will certainly compensate for its drawbacks. You say that you’ve stopped playing after finishing Act I – it’s a moment full of suspense and arising questions, so I ask myself what exactly keeps you from playing. The bugs that you’ve listed might be immersion breaking bugs, but none of them seem to be game breaking bugs. Sure, immersion breaking bugs can be annoying, but many of the bugs that you mention can be found in most RPGs.
Also, these bugs are mainly related to open world exploring. Did you actually experience major annoyances when a new section of the main storyline of Nehrim kept you in its grips? I don’t know what your standards are. Which games are your favorites? Don’t you think a similar list can be written for, let’s say, Skyrim, even after patch 1.7?
So how about this suggestion: You can upload one or several save games that you’ve created just before a repeatable bug occurs. I (or maybe other users who want to help) can test if the bug can be recreated. Maybe there is a way to get rid of a few bugs just by changing some settings so that we can improve your Nehrim experience. What do you think?

Some of the bugs you encountered seem normal to me (e.g. the disappearing boat - I consider this some kind of classic bug), and many of them occour due to the terrible pathfinding system of the Oblivion engine, thus SureAI can't be blamed for this. But do these bugs really annoy you so much? I'm currently playing through Nehrim for the third time (I spent ~250h yet), and I can definately say, that the story, the atmosphere and the side quests are better than Oblivion or Skyrim. So as long as the game doesn't glitch around too much or any game breaking bugs occour you should keep playing.
Oh and believe me, there are MUCH worse games in terms of bugs... ever played The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall without a patch
? Or Gothic 3? Stronghold 3? These games were almost unplayable due to the bugs. In Nehrim they can be annoying of course (otherwise you wouldn't be complaining), but even if there is an game breaking bug, there are good chances some people here in the forum will help you.

Well a lot of the bugs are no deal breakers but the broken AI is. It really destroys the immersion when gaurds won't even attack you. Yeah so other games were buggy at launch but they got FIXED. This game is considered a finished product and yet it is unpolished. I really hope someone makes a mod or patch that fixes this.
