i was reading through the 3 races it had to play, when i got to the half-...something... the camera flew down below the floor way off from where it was, with no character in sight. i remember something like this happening with a new race mod for oblivion, when i accidentally put the meshes in the wrong spot, i have no idea what to do.

just before installing this i un-installed oblivion, deleted all the files associated with it (though i forgot to do the files in mydocuments), and did a fresh install. i deleted the old oblivion.ini, because i was having trouble getting the game to start, so i read the readme, and it told me to do so. i don't think i have anything else there that would be a problem.

anyone have any ideas? i have not yet actually started playing, after i saw that the halfys were missing, i read their descriptions, and came on here to complain :p

any advice would be appreciated, this thing looks AWESOME

edit: i started playing, to see what would happen, the first guy who talked to me was more or less a walking yellow exclamation sign, with a head floating above it (so i know there was a missing mesh there). also flipping through my inventory i found a diary with no inventory icon. and also the guy talking to me had no voice, just very fast text i dunno if this has any english voice acting yet, either way i'm not badly bothered by that. anyway, i need to go bed now, almost 3 am here :)
I'm not sure about how to fix your issue but I can tell you that there currently isn't any English voice acting (not sure if they're planning on it). However there is full German voice acting with English subtitles.
Let's try to see what is happening...
The Nehrim installer is supposed to copy the BSA files (which contain most of the meshes, textures and music) from your Oblivion folder into the forum where you want to install Nehrim in. But the Nehrim game was not able to find these BSA files (which is why you get exclamation marks). So:
Case 1: the Nehrim installer did not succeed to copy the BSA files from the Oblivion folder into the Nehrim folder, because
Case 1a: the Nehrim installer did not find the Oblivion folder (this can happen if you move Oblivion to another folder without changing the registry entry)
Case 1b: the Nehrim installer had no reading rights in the Oblivion folder (I doubt this, but try running the installer with admin privileges)
Case 1c: the Nehrim installer had no writing rights in the Nehrim folder (again, but try running the installer with admin privileges)
Case 2: the Nehrim game could not access the BSA files in the Nehrim folder, although they have been copied there correctly (again, probably a matter of privileges)
Case 3: the BSA files are there, but broken (should not be the case, as you have a clean Oblivion installation)
Without more information I can't tell you which of the cases it is, but normally you should be able to see it for yourself.
i re-installed running as admin, works fine so now, tyvm :)
