I have the Steam version, have read the readme and followed its instructions. To clarify:
First, I backed up my Oblivion folder in Steam>Steamapps>common.
Then, I installed Nehrim to C:\SureAI\Nehrim (to avoid Program Files/admin issues; should it be somewhere else?).
Then, I copied the entire contents of C:\SureAI\Nehrim to Steam>Steamapps>Common>Oblivion. (EDIT: There was an issue here with renaming involving a file and a folder. I believe it was a sound file involving a cave and had the number 2 in it. I just skipped it.)
The launcher/icon provided by the Nehrim installation does not work. Neither does the "Oblivion" shortcut within the Nehrim folder. I did, however, get the game to work by going into Steam>...>Oblivion and launching it from there. Unfortunately, the two human-looking races (their name escapes me) have incredibly bizarre eyes. One eye is black and the other is white. Also, the "female" Half- one doesn't look very female, but that's really a matter of preference and (probably) not a technical issue.
Is there a way to resolve this/these problems? I'd like to be running the game/mod exactly as the team intended as to avoid any unknown issues.
Thanks in advance for any help or input.
Edit: Re-read the Readme. Apparently I'm launching the game like I'm supposed to with Steam. Everything checks out except the eyes--what's up with that? Is it intentional?

Are you sure you have disabled auto-updates from Steam? (I'm just guessing. I don't have Steam and I'm glad about this.
)
I just did that. I've gotten the game to work, but my question about the eyes still stands. Is it intentional that one is black and one is white? Entirely?
Thanks!
Thanks!
