I've run into the same issue as described here and here, even though the resolution of both my game and screen is set to 1920x1080. Whenever I try to click on one of the menu screens in character creation, the game prompts me to finish or continue, but I never actually get to the other screens (face, etc.). I don't want to install the ultrawide UI mod as my screen isn't actually ultrawide. Any other solutions to this bug?
The standard resolution of the Skyrim engine (whether the ‘classic’ or the more modern Special Edition) and SkyUI is 1920 x 1080.

You wrote that

.

So I guess you don't have a 16:9 monitor?
What kind exactly?

You can select the resolution (widescreen 16:9 or 16:10) and the resolution in the launchers of both Enderal versions.
You can also change the resolution manually by typing it in!

If the launcher does not adopt this despite saving, it may be due to a lack of rights for the Enderal Launcher.exe.
In this case, you would have to change this under Properties to ‘Run as admin’ and, to be on the safe side, add the file to the ‘whitelist’ in your anti-virus program (e.g. Windows Defender) or add it to the exceptions.

If you have the Enderal Special Edition, you would also have to deactivate SSE Display Tweaks in the launcher as otherwise the native resolution of your monitor will always be selected (so manual changes won't help you).

Otherwise I would really test the Ultra widescreen mod. SkyUI is limited in its display options.
