Hi,

I've been enjoying the game but I've stopped playing because of FPS drops. I searched quite thoroughly in the steam forums and on reddit but I couldn't seem to fix my problem.

I get FPS drops from a stable 60 FPS to 20-30 FPS. I think this happens more frequently in areas with light effects. I have noticed that campfires seem to cause it a lot, the distortion effect around them might be the reason. Oddly however, I have had the same problem in dimly lit indoor areas whilst looking at a specific part of a bench or wall where seemingly nothing is happening, minimal light/shadows/reflections occuring. Extra note, I'm playing as a mage, the effects from the magic doesn't seem to cause any issues despite causing a lot of effects and light. :?

I have not added any additional mods to the game and I installed it directly from Steam.

My hardware:
Ryzen 3600x
NVIDIA 1660 Super (Latest driver)
16gb RAM

I have made some tweaks to the [Memory] section in ENBlocal and changed a couple lines here and there based on forum advice but nothing improved, I have tried different combinations in optimization settings toggling most on/off. I would appreciate some technical support because I'd really like to play but the sudden drops are so jarring and immersion breaking! :dead:
Welcome to the forum :)

Can you tell us exactly where you are experiencing the fps drops (locations, areas)?
Then our developer who is still working on Enderal can check whether he can fix it.

In this specific spot I will get 30fps , if I use console to change to day time, the issue persists. If I pan to the right during the day until I can't see the shadows of the trees on the left then FPS goes back to normal. Maybe it's to do with shadows and could be fixed with ENB settings?

Thank you!

As I understood you, you had more places than Riverville  . Exact name is enough at first.

As you said, you experimented with the settings.
Shadows and visibility (especially grass) need a lot of power.
But you've probably already found that.

I do not think that changes in the enblocal.ini bring much.
You can try deactivating Enboost completely (but probably won't be of much use either).
I'm not familiar enough with the games locations to know where I've been, nor do I have screenshots for them, I could try to deliberately go and find some places where it lags. I might do that if I get time after work. Sorry that I couldn't provide more.

Disabling ENBoost had no effect.

Edit: I do remember having the same problem when facing the campfire during the sequence where you initially meet Jespar. I also remember having the same problem looking at a campfire in a bandit camp not far from there. I had the same drop walking towards the ruins with the Vatyr, I think there may have been a statue with a light effect on her hands?

It does seem like it may have something to do with light/shadows.
Hello,

Can you try these .ini files? Back up your own ini's and saves before you use them.
Change your resolution in BethINI/Manually if needed.

I've been tweaking recently.

I got disheartened by the fact it didn't work and stopped searching for a solution.
