Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening...
In preparation of this when I re-installed Skyrim not long ago, I decided to leave my Skyrim in a working vanilla state. I have Steam installed and working.
I tried to install Enderal and then scrapped those attempts and decided to use the Nexus version with the most current launcher from here.
Now it came with a .GZ format. There is really no clear info (as of last evening for me) on where things are supposed to go. The little info I gleaned was to not unpack the GZ (or torrent) and to put the launcher in the Skyrim folder and let it handle installation. When this wasn't working I did add the GZ file to the Skyrim and the Skyrim data file (not unpacking it.)
At first the launcher I used would not recognize the hardware I have (even though it is more than sufficient) and could not allow me to continue onward. After I got the installer again when I decided to use the Nexus version, it actually moved on to the backup/install part. It still didn't recognize my hardware but allowed the launcher to continue. Once it reached the install stage everything stopped. The gear continues to turn like it was trying to install but after about 4 or more hours it never go off -1%.
Again my Skyrim is vanilla, I have the requirements for the hardware.
The only thing different is I have a number of Steam games on another drive, which was set up through Steam itself so that you can add games in Steam to another drive. As I said all the games there work fine and through Steam itself, which allows more than one drive to have the games.
I have just verified my Skyrim cache this morning and am ready to try again.
If anyone has any insight as to what is going on and how I can make this work I would appreciate it. I apologize if this exact issue has been discussed. I haven't seen it and if it is, please just link me the right place. Thank you!
