A Sealed Letter From Enderal - by Crosshair
Posted: 19.09.2012 23:22
For thousands of years, the god Malphas was our ideal, our idol, our destiny. When Malphas died, we lost the meaning, the brilliance of his reign. But we replaced him. With something deeper, with something we will fight for. To keep the social order in Enderal, Malphas’ death was kept secret—and thus the risk that the truth may leak out.

Tealor Arantheal, our old leader, is back. And he has the support of the Order of Mages. This order was funded by his son, Narathzul Arantheal, to fight the gods. There will always be men like Narathzul Arantheal, their emotions make them insecure, fickle, they believe every lie, every ruse, solely out of fear that they might be true. Tealor is different. He is so self-controlled and considered. His generosity seems to pay off. Crush your enemies by making them your friends...

He came to Enderal, to the center of millennial power and powerlessness, without an armada, without military force, without a desire of power, but with a vision… Tealor speaks of a pattern that we have not yet understood in its deepest levels, some kind of destructive evolution. The disappearance of an entire civilization, traceless, without any sign of war or destruction.

But we know about it, we are the alliance of old enemies, we can invest all our knowledge and all our wisdom in our future, instead of wasting them in a concept of an enemy. We will resist and give everything. Our newly given freedom must not perish in vain. Today, paladins, we will achieve salvation, redemption, which gods and fate never gave us!

Thanks for the translation, Crossfire!

I think it's too bad that those screenshots are so low res.. I wanna see them in HD! :(

PS. Any chance of gettin' more coverage on Enderal? Why don't you (SureAI) send a mail with some info to RPS? (www.rockpapershotgun.com) - pretty big PC game blog. I'm sure they'll make a post and get some more people stoked on this project! :D

All the best,

Daniel

Hi Daniel,

Thats a great suggestion! :)
We'll probably contact Rock, Paper, Scissors, but we decided that we are going to wait until we can show the first video footage. So far we haven't released any "mind-blowing" content. ;)

All the best,

Latiro

The sealed letter says Taeranor will come alone but in another article it says you are a soldier in a ferry together with Taeranor which means he comes with an army?

Hi Hazzmat, are you referring to the summary of the PC ACTION article on Nehrim Wiki?
The player character, a soldier of fortune, will be on the same ferry as Tealor.
"Soldier of fortune" is a translation of the term "Glücksritter", which is used in the original German version of the article - an independent adventurer who seeks wealth, pleasure and excitement. (The English term can also refer to a mercenary, but in this case, it rather describes the adventurer type).

Thats correct, Holomay. The player will not be one of Tealor's soldiers. :)

Are the two newly released screenshots from the article and if so are they only ones from the article or are there more? I also really like the sword. never seen a sword like that with a face. :o

It looks so amazing !!
Of course there's my only one huge complain , the landmass.
But on the other side , so many amazing things :D

The landscape ( the wallpaper , the new pictures ) looks so unique and good , can't wait !
Most probably I'll just live in Enderal..

That's great to hear and quite motivating. :) I doubt that the smaller landmass will be percieved as such. But we'll see! ;)

I have a comment about screen shot 8 (OK, I can already hear the boo's and hisses). It seems too intense, too crowded, as if some Disneyland park was trying to create an entire mountain range in one hectare.

You're going to get them from me for sure.
These things are what makes Enderal's landscape more unique , I personally like the trees A LOT , I wish we could see more of the landscape :P

I truly have the feeling that I will just walk around these wonderful forests and the whole continent , will make a little camp at nights ( hopefully ) and will just enjoy this amazing land.

Trees & forests?? I don't think you are looking at screen shot #8.

Hey badgesareus,

it might be a little easier if you'd just post the Sceenshot you're talking about. The the eighth Screenshot on our Website is this one:

http://www.enderal.de/galery/B_Leuchtturm.jpg

There are trees and a forest on this image. So which one are you talking about? Anyway, the universal answer would be: Of course we can't match everyone's taste. We try to design our landscapes as immersive and detailed as we can. On the one side, I can understand that you might compare our design to some kind of simulated Disney-Land-World. And actually, in some ways, our intentions match in a few points. Disneyland and SureAI try to immerse the player into another world. Of course we don't design the most realistic landscapes - If you wanted those, you could simply walk out the door and take a look a the forests, I think. ;)
This is why we want to deliver fantastic and very detailed landscapes in Enderal, we place great emphasis on design and atmosphere by aesthetic aspects. I hope that explained it to you a bit better. ;)

Greetings,

MadHatter :)

I think the confusion might stem from the fact that the screenshots are in a different order on sureai.net - that's where the new images in the "sealed letter" news are linked to. In the gallery on sureai.net, this one is image "8 of 8":

@badgesareus: If this is the image you've been referring to ... I think what we see is some kind of passage through a mountain range. We only get a hint of the actual scope of the landscape - look at the edges of the picture! I personally love the screenshot. Every time I look at it, I want the camera to start moving! :-)

I live in the middle of the Great Chihuahuan Desert, so it would have to be a very big step to see a forest!

Well, in that case you might want to see a realistic desert instead! ;)

Just stay tuned for new Infos and Screenshots. The Places will vary in settings and style - Maybe you'll find something you can relate to a bit more.

Greetings,

MadHatter :)
