Umm... what Items do I need to have to use recall... It doesn't seem to work at all, though I got it working once a little while ago... I just play the animation and nothing happens...

You need to have two separate spells to see it work properly : MARK, RECALL.
1. First, you need a spell called 'Mark'. You mark a location where you want to be teleported. Thisone does not require items, I'm pretty sure of it.
2. Second, you travel around the world and you want to be teleported to your 'marked' location. Now use 'Recall'. I am not sure if recall requires any items, if it does, it is probably a Teleport Rune.

Absolutely correct: Mark does not need anything, Recall needs a Teleport Rune.
