I ran across a chest in the road which blew up, and the game is telling me to go find clues about how the mechanism works... I've searched around the area a lot and there isnt anything . I even found the coach a little east of the trap, but no one is inside and there isn't anything to do but look at a request note. It doesnt update the quest at all. Any help is appreciated

If I remember correctly, there's also a crate near the staging grounds that is part of the quest. It's located somwhere behind the building at the Staging Grounds, on the hill and hidden in the bushes.
