Item dissapearing ? - by hisn00bness

Hello everyone, and my best whishes to all ! :D

I just had two small questions regarding the starting area of Nehrim:

1.
  • I picked up a normal pickaxe in the mine, and got my first ore.
Later on, after I left the mine, when I was doing the rats and shovel quest, I discovered some more mounds of ore, and was a bit baffled to notice that I couldn't mine it anymore. The message ' you need a pickaxe to mine ore' came up.
Thinking I might have sold it to the merchant in the camp^, I headed over there, only to be able to verify that indeed the merchant had no such item for sale.
    So afaik there's three possibilities:

_ Dropped it somewhere along the way (tried backtracking the mine as best as I could, obviously couldn't get all the way back to check everything, no luck)

_ Mining ore somehow 'consumes' the pickaxe and I'll just have to find a new one

_ Bug: item dissapeared from inventory for no good reason.
2.
  • _ I noticed in the general outside mine area a place where you can 'forge fire'. For the life of me, I can not find the tool needed to operate it. Is this something I overlooked or do I find the item/ skill needed later on in the game?

Thank you very much for any information you might share !

1. Mining "consumes " pick axes, somewhat like lockpicks get used up after a certain number of uses.

2. This whole feature is quite complex, you need skills, coal, iron... to be honest I haven't used it yet, but I'm pretty sure it isn't a bug you discovered.

The crafting page is not yet finished, but you can find some useful pieces of info here:
