Best Light Armour? - by lukasaurus

What is the best light armour in the game?

I am a Paladin, because I didn't really know what any of them did at the time, and I might have picked something else, but whatever. I am level 21.

I mainly use bow, my sneak and marksman are really high and my blade is in the 70's in case my sneak attacks don't finish them off. I am currently using the Highway Thief Set (complete), which not only looks cool, but also infers some decent sneak bonuses.

Is there a better light armour set? I've had this since I was about level 7.

Hi.

Normally play mage, so all my light armour is geared towards that.
Though I just looked at old save game when I was level 20 and had Visor of the Villains - Fortify Marksman 8/Fortify Security 4, Snipers Amulet - Fortify Marksman 10, Fortify Aglity 5 and Band of Accuracy - Fortify Marksman 15. Plus Phantom Ring - Sneak plus 10.
No wonder I was good with the bow!!!!

I play an all around character with an emphasis on stealth and I am partial to the Magic Winds set. Without the staff though so I forgo the set bonus. But that doesn't bother me because the armor is solid. It isn't geared toward stealthy chars though really it is more geared toward Mages. If you are wanting to play a stealthy character then you probably want to track down (spoiler open at own risk)...

The Master Thief Armor. It is a Dark Brotherhood, one piece set of leathers with a high AR and some good skill increasing enchantments (sneak, athletics, marksman and light armor). I am guessing here because I can't recall exactly but it can be found on a Boss char in, I think, the Aman Fortress which is located in the NE corner area of the map. I don't want to send you on a wild goose chase in terms of location so try and have the location confirmed before you head over there. Combine it with a Sorcerers Hood or Exile's hood and you are rockin.
Aside from that, as Hawk alluded to, there are lots of cool combinations that can be made with various disparate pieces of Light armor. I used Isla's Noble Robes for quite a bit simply because it was a cool robe and you can still wear greaves with it. But yeah you have probably outgrown the Highway Thief set and, in terms of AR, there are plenty of better armors out there to be had.
