I am in the Mist Tower on Fog Island trying to release Aranthael, and nothing I do has any effect on the guards. The in-game dialog suggests that I need to try something different, since they can't be attacked directly, but I can't find out what I need to do. I figured that flooding the grotto might work, but I can't find a way to do that either. Could someone please give me a hint?

Thanks! I got it now - I didn't think they would be so 'dumb', especially since I couldn't get them to fall into the water...
