During the prologue, after getting Morten's quest to get supports for the gate, I went into the mine and retrieved two shovels. However, when I come back and try to talk to Morten, he gives his "I told you to stay away from the gate" response and cuts off communication. Now I'm stuck and completely stumped on what to do. I can't talk to Morten and I don't see any place where I can place or put the shovels to finish the quest. I'm really disappointed that this is happening right now and I really do believe I've done everything right.

Have you taken the soap in a "nonstandard" way?

Yes, I was already carrying the soap when I got the quest from the helmet guy. I'm not sure how, but I think it had to do with an addon I had installed that helps with looting plants. It also has a function to loot chests and it seems to do that at quite a large range. I've now disabled most of that, but it might have been active while i first entered the mining town cell.

Click on Morten in the console and write "set warnung to 3". But I am not sure this helps. Basically, finding the soap too early breaks the mainquest. This is something that should be fixed by the author of the mod.

It triggered a mage invasion and after that I was able to turn in the quest. Thanks!
