Bird songs make loud, high pitched, buzzing noise - by hoboben

When outside, bird song sounds also cause a loud, high pitched noise, similar to the sound of old dial-up modems.

This sound only occurs when you can hear bird songs, and stops when the birds stop singing. Because it's so loud, I didn't realise at first that the bird song sounds were the cause, because it drowned out the bird sounds.

It's not every bird sound, but it is most of them.

I've reinstalled twice, and this has happened with v1.0.75 and 1.0.8

Any ideas? Is there a way to disable these specific sounds?

I realise it's a bit odd, so it may just be my system, but a way to silence the bird sounds would give my ears a rest (it's a horrible noise!)

Thanks. Also, fantastic job on Nehirim! It's fantastic; I prefer it to Oblivion!

Is it at the coast to the east of Erothin, near the shipwreck? Because I have just noticed that there are some scripted sounds there, which trigger Playsound3d every frame... so this could be the reason.
On the other hand, so could be a buggy/obsolete audio driver on your part.

Hi,

No, it's the entire outdoor map. Anywhere there's birdsong. Indoors/dungeons are fine. It's almost constant on an out-door map.

I think my sound drivers are up to date, but I'll make sure.

Thanks

Oh, bats also do it. It's noticeable, in an underground cave with bats, the buzzing gets louder as you get closer. And quieter as you kill each bat, until you kill the last one and it stops. Is there a specific file somewhere for the bat sound? I could try fiddling with it.
