i am running windows 7 and both have a version of oblivion that i can install by CD as well as run through steam. however, when i try and run the mod it tells me that i have an application load error that pops up in a window with a red circle that has a white X on it. has anyone had this problem before?

The installer?
NehrimLauncher.exe?
oblivion.exe?

i tried using the nehrim launcher and checking the boxes appropriatly. i also tried running the game through steam with the readme as guidance and it didtn work. then i tried taking the game from steam off and using it on a load from the CD.

OK, so the launcher works.

Read the Readme.txt, especially the parts about Steam (if you used your Steam version) and the "Help, the game will not start!" Section.

If problem persists after following above posts suggestions and ensuring correct installation. See below.


White x in red circle usually means a service or driver has not loaded or stopped. Check in administration tools too see which driver or service is causing problem.

thanks for the help! while i try what i can in the readme can you tell me where to find the "help"?

id also like to point out that when the oblivion launcher starts i think im supposed to see the nehrim.esm and nehrimdata.esm in the data files with boxes ill have to check. the boxes are not there in addition to the load error. does that help explain my problem?

I was going to put a link to other posts like this. But feeling lazy (a few too many bud's). Yes you should see them data files. Reinstall to something like C:\ Nehrim. Delete Oblivion ini in My Documents\My Games first. Launch Nehrim launcher, just tick the 3 Nehrim data files. See if that helps. (Because it sounds like you have installed to a UAC folder).

it worked! you were right about the files being in the wrong place as well. i moved them before and it still didnt work but with my constant copying and dragging i must have messed something up. i deleted all the information i had on nehrim and downloaded again through a torrent and the problem resolved itself.
