Would like to know what upping the difficulty settings affects. Does it spawn more monsters, give them higher levels or do you level up slower?

Very simple: you make less damage and your enemies make more.

And vice versa. The lower the difficulty, the more damage you do and the less damage the enemies do. But c'mon, stay at medium (in the middle), not too hard, not too easy.

But c'mon, stay at medium (in the middle), not too hard, not too easy.

First time I played through as sneak/archer and made it far too easy for myself (apart from end fight. Still have save game from that too try again at some point). I just want to be able to make it a little more difficult if ever I think it is getting too easy. Playing 100% mage at moment and at lower levels a lot harder.
