Continuation? - by TalonWulf

Hey Devs! First of all I just want to say... WOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW. That doesn't even do it justice. This is, by far, the best game I have played in a very VERY long time. Like, most of the time I completely forgot that this was a conversion from something else, and found myself so immersed that I might as well have bought Nehrim right off the shelf at some store. Brilliant, brilliant work. I do have one things I'd like to put out there, though, which I think some others might agree with.

So here goes. The ending was great, dramatic and epic! But, God, why does it have to be the ending??? I get into these kinds of games, and try to feel what the character is feeling. At the end of the story, I felt absolutely broken, like my main character had gone through hell and back, fought and defeated both death and fate, and all they had at the end was a worn out fellow Shadow God who wants to go fishing and live a simple life, while all your friends have been killed and you're left as a lonely saturnine God in a world where men rule. You have no purpose anymore. I think that there should be a continuation of the story, a way for the main character to reforge the Order into something different, and possibly a way to bring Kim back, because that personally devastated me when she died (much like the poster of the thread before me). My main driving inspiration in the game was settling down and being able to go on living (although I came to understand more and more as the quest went on, that it would be impossible. Remembering the invitation from the head of Tirin Abbey that I would be welcome back any time. I had considered it up until the end, when I realized "I can't ever go back to that, not after all this." But what I really wanted was to be able to brave the unthinkable, come back alive and have more than just a taciturn Shadow God to commiserate with.

BTW, there are an impossible number of memorable characters, I can't even handle it. Oblivion couldn't come close to memorable characters. Like, I can think back fondly on Melvin or Callisto, but can anyone really think back to Oblivion and say "Oh, that Martin. He was such a cool character?" Maybe a little, but not much. Nor Jauffre, or even Baurus. I honestly can't remember anyone in Oblivion that stands out as seeming real, or getting me to care about them at all.

Now I also understand that all the characters who died, had to die. It wouldn't be the same if they hadn't. But in the state my main character is in, I think he would do anything possible to bring back the people he loves. And for a Shadow God, "anything possible" leaves a lot of possibilities. I don't know, I just think that once the main quest is done, something just feels wrong in the world. The main character gave everything - I think we need to give him/her a little cheering up. Maybe I'm just sentimental like that, though. ;)
Just something to take into consideration - a suggestion from a heartily won-over gamer. So I'm curious if anyone agrees with me, that this game deserves an expansion/sequel? Maybe not now, but sometime in the future? Let me know what you all think.

Not only would I love to see an expansion , but a whole game. The game is so good (best I have played in a long time), would pay for it.

How about this for an expansion/game. Stormwend etc no longer have there gods. Oblivion think they have defeated the Daedra. The Daedra start popping up in Stormwend. Storwend has to go to war against Oblivion.

hahahah that made me laugh. Annoying Fan set loose in Cahbaet? Then all the northern rebels could beat the crap out of him. That'd be something!
