Anyone buy gems? - by crpgnut

I've got hundreds of silly little gems that do 1 damage for 3 seconds or 3 damage for 3 seconds, which are basically useless. They're all worth 50 gold supposedly, but I haven't found a buyer. Will anyone buy these or should I just drop the ones I have and stop picking up new ones?

You don't like extra damage?
As for there effectiveness it depends on if they stack or not,if they do you could launch a barrage of quick strikes:10x3 every second for 3 seconds
If they don't stack 3 seconds is about right between power strikes so its basically some extra damage
The most worthwhile would probably absorption effects
Also I'm not sure but some creatures might have some weakness to some elements

If your skill mercantile is high enough you can sell everything to each merchant.
Or you use the gems to improve the weapons, you can sell them than for more money.

The damage over time gems aren't worth the low amount of charges and the cost to recharge.

I never thought of this. Duh! This is a great idea, Darkblade and I feel stupid.

Iron soul stealer + petty soul gem = free recharges forever

If you play a stealth/marksman type character, the fire ruby is pretty damn useful as it lights up whatever you hit. It basically turns them into a light bulb so you can pincushion it even in total darkness.
