While the spell is nice, it also costs an arcane stone each time you cast it. It's best use is as a time bomb you drop behind you as you flee. It'll slow up the enemy. I'd say that it isn't a vital spell though. If arcane stones were as plentiful as Welkynd stones, it would be a brutal loss. Unforunately, Nehrim's itty-bitty dungeons are lucky to have 2 or 3 even if it's a ruin. The bigger dungeons "might" have 6. I'm not that far in the game though, they might become much more plentiful. Of course, you can buy Arcane Stones and they're not real rare. If you haven't advanced a whole lot, you might want to rollback till before you finished that dungeon and get some LP.
