Hi,

I would like to introduce myself. I am from South Africa, yes we do get games here and we love to play them. Unfortunately my German stinks, so I will have to wait patiently for the English translation. I mostly like to play almost any RPG's as well as the Total War games. Favorite games include: Gothic, KOTOR, Total War, Mafia, Dragon age, Mass Effect, GTA, Drakensang, Jagged Alliance, Fallout, Arx Fatalis, EA Rugby, EA NFL, Kings Bounty, and maybe some I didn't mention.

I have to say I am not a big fan of Oblivion, although I played through the whole thing. I am more a fan of the Gothic games, and have had a happy relationship with the whole series except maybe for Forsaken. Having said that I am really looking forward to Nehrim. The Germans just know what RPG's are all about. So lets hope the English version comes out soon.

Oh yes, and thank you SureAI for what looks to be an excellent game. I sincerely hope a publisher plucks you out of wherever you are and gives you the funding to fulfill your potential.

I"m coming from the opposite direction. I really don't like any of the Gothics and I love Oblivion, but I'm still excited to at least give this a look.

I like Oblivion aswell, but I played the german version for a while (Despite not being able to follow absolutely every sentence) and I'd say this game is quite cool. Leveling system is superb, afaik you have to enter a few dungeons before you can progress through to the next area (else monsters will become FAR to hard) I had my difficulty on hard, and had to tone it down - because it was basically impossible!

So unless you like a challenge,(A serious challenge, I'd say every single mob has the ability to kill you. Two mobs means you have to run or you're dead) don't expect to play through the whole game on hard difficulty.

The cool thing about the harder difficulty though, is that you actually use the scrolls that you find. I think I'm out of attack scrolls now, so I'm using endurance and health scrolls to help keep me alive during battles. I've entered my third or fourth dungeon and there has been at least one interesting thing in each. They're also not huge and empty, unlike the first dungeon. Pretty fun.

I'm now beating around a L30-45 area as a L20.. I have my difficulty on easy-medium (Somewhere in between) and let me tell you.. it's NOT easy.. (I wont even try hard, one hit = dead? )

Basically Oblivion (and all other Elder Scrolls games) were not made to be played on Hard. We, too, only tested Nehrim on the preset 50% difficulty. By playing on higher difficulty you are entering new land, so don't be surprised if some encounters are rather impossible.

I've found that just a few clicks above normal gives a VERY challenging game. I think I'm only level 6, but a nasty goblin or a wolf can kill you in a couple hits, so it's quite fun. I scale it back if I'm in the woodland areas. Wildlife is much more powerful than any creature I've met, so far. A bear will kill every time in just one hit at 3 clicks above normal. At normal, he'll have to hit you twice or three times. The problem in the woods is you may retreat and end up surrounded. I had a bear, a diseased dear, a wolf, and a mountain lion and they all preferred to attack me instead of each other. I was able to find a high rock and pick them off because I would have died fast otherwise.
